The Carnale restaurant is an example of how an architectural design can give rise to a sensory journey that goes beyond just tasting.
The arrangement of spaces, calibrated lighting and carefully selected materials create a harmonious environment in which every detail reveals a desire to amaze, pamper and give moments of authentic well-being.
Carnale was born from the idea of turning fire and flesh into the protagonists of this project. Primordial energy is celebrated through the presence of the central brazier, rediscovering the power of fire as a source of warmth, light and identity of place.
The brazier is experienced by restaurant guests as a place to experience a community moment. Circular concrete seats with comfortable small tables, also circular, are illuminated under floor to amplify the soft mood light. The outermost ring of the brazier is dotted with tall rows of light inserted into the greenery.
Still surrounded by greenery, semicircular black iron wall sconces with small tumblers illuminate the warm oak tabletops with elegant discretion.
These are alternated with slender black cylindrical suspensions and spherical opal glass compositions.
All lights were custom made from drawings by the architect.
The fiery led signs become the restaurant’s bold slogan: the spirit is strong but the flesh is weak.
